Statement

The Kennedy Media Center provides materials to promote the love of reading and to support the curriculum and academic standards.

 

Hours

The media center is open during regular school hours.

 

Circulation

Any staff member may borrow materials.  Students visit the library weekly for book checkout.

Kindergarten     1 book

First Grade        1 book the first semester, 2 books after that

Second Grade    2 books

Third Grade        2 books

Fourth Grade      2 books plus 1 magazine if they wish

Fifth Grade          2 books plus 1 magazine if they wish

Sixth Grade         2 books plus 2 magazine if they wish

Books may be renewed for 1 additional week.

If a student has an overdue book(s) they will not be allowed to check any books out until that book(s) is returned

 

Damaged or Lost books

Students are responsible for damaged or lost books.  If a book is lost or damaged students and parents are notified and restitution for the book cost will be charged.  Lost or damaged items will be assessed at current market value.
